A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed, and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. The tooth may still be in pain after a root canal because the pulp, which contains the nerve, is still present.
Symptoms of a cavity are:
- Bad breath or a bad taste in your mouth.
- Gums that bleed or have other signs of gum disease.
- Facial swelling.
- Toothache or mouth pain.
- Tooth sensitivity to hot or cold foods or drinks.
At our Cheadle clinic, we perform gentle root canal treatments for patients from Manchester, Stockport, and surrounding areas. The procedure involves cleaning the infected pulp, disinfecting the canal, and sealing it to prevent reinfection. Aftercare includes avoiding hard foods and maintaining excellent oral hygiene.
