Root canal treatment usually takes one or two visits to our Didsbury dentist. We will take X-rays to establish how much infection is present and give you a local anaesthetic to numb the area. We place a dental dam which isolates the tooth and protects it during treatment.

Infected or dead pulp is removed from inside of the tooth using dental instruments. Root canals are cleaned and disinfected, then reshaped and sealed. An interim filling is made if required between appointments. After healing has occurred, the tooth can then be permanently restored with a crown.
