Shine Bright with Confidence: The Smile Makeover Guide

Being able to smile with confidence increases our self esteem and makes us outgoing and approachable. Smiling makes us happy. It’s no surprise then that smile makeovers are becoming so popular.

Smile with face, smile with mind

In her best selling book Eat, Pray, Love Elizabeth Gilbert describes her visit to Bali where smiling is an important part of the culture. Everyone learns to smile from a young age, even through adversity. A medicine man advises her to use a smiling meditation to ‘Smile with face, smile with mind, and good energy will come to you and clean away dirty energy’. Although the medicine man was unbothered by his own missing teeth, most of us would prefer to get that corrected. But you don’t need to have missing teeth to want to improve your smile. That’s where the smile makeover comes in.

What is a smile makeover?

A smile makeover covers a range of different treatment options and can include teeth straightening procedures using orthodontics (visible or invisible braces). Worn or uneven teeth can be repaired with dental veneers, bonding, implants and crowns. Discoloured teeth can be treated with a range of whitening procedures (either in the dental surgery or a combination of home and practice-based treatments).

As a smile makeover is tailored specifically to an individual’s requirements, the initial consultation is particularly important. With a wide range of options to improve the appearance of teeth, a treatment package can be created for all kinds of budgets.

Grin and bare it

Smiling makes us feel better, but only if we’re happy with our teeth. Gone are the days when we had to put up with bad teeth. A smile makeover offers a range of treatments to improve our appearance.
